Movie Night

An Opinion Piece

POWER documentary (Netflix)

Last night started out as a normal night. My husband and I sat down about 9 o’clock for our usual nighttime ritual of watching Netflix. We had started watching Jason Statham in ‘The Mechanic’ the night before but had stopped it halfway through — I have a regularly scheduled bedtime at 12am. Yeah, I know… I’m a wimp. LOL

I have to say that I actually found ‘The Mechanic’ to be one of Statham’s worst movies. It was predictable, did not have much of a plot — other than killing bad guys — and the ending left a lot to be desired. Maybe it’s just me. I give it 2 stars. After that, we ended up watching a 2013 movie by the name of Escape Plan.

This movie had quite a number of big names — Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Neill, 50 Cent, Jim Caviezel (Person of Interest), Vincent D’Onofrio, and Amy Ryan, etc. It was action packed — as all of Sly’s and Arnie’s movies are — and very enjoyable. I give this one a 5 star rating and I highly recommend it! At an hour and 55 minutes, you can squeeze this one in anywhere. :)

Since it wasn’t midnight yet — and I wasn’t really tired, we decided to start something new. So, we started scrolling. And scrolling. Finally, we decided on a police documentary called POWER.
